Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 November 2026

This policy explains what we do with the information you give us when you sign up for updates on this site. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

UkemiXR is currently an R2B project of Aalto University, and during this time your email address needed for the newsletter and other personal data needed for communications is processed as described in the Privacy notice for Aalto University communication and events.

The R2B project may be brought to market through the transfer of the technology to a spin‑off company, and in this case the email addresses needed for communications will be processed by that company respectively as an independent controller. You can at any time unsubscribe if you wish to stop receiving this newsletter, and your personal data will be removed.

UkemiXR is based in Espoo, Finland, and funded by Business Finland. For anything about your data, contact Jyri Partanen at [email protected].

What we collect

We do not store your IP address, and the sign-up does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Why we use it

To send you playtest invitations, demo updates and launch news for the projects you chose. That's all. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time.

Who can see it

Only the UkemiXR team. We never sell or rent your information or share it for marketing. The list is stored with Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this site and processes the data on our behalf under its data processing terms. Cloudflare may process data outside the EU; such transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If the technology moves to a spin-off company, the list moves with it as described above. We act on deletion requests within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or give it to you in a portable format, and you can object to its use or withdraw your consent at any time. Every email we send has a way to unsubscribe, or just write to the address above.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

Other storage on this site

Your browser keeps your walk-mode settings (such as walking speed) locally; they never leave your device. After you sign up, it also remembers that you did, so the sign-up form is not shown again.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
